Cello

Julie Trudeau, cello, began her studies in her hometown of Sherbrooke, and continued in Montreal with the renowned Walter Joachim. In 1994 she received a scholarship from the Quebec Council of Arts and Letters allowing her to pursue an advanced training course with cellist Philippe Muller, professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. From 1982 to 1992, Julie was Principal Cello of the Sherbrooke Symphony Orchestra, of the Eastern Townships Chamber Orchestra and of the Musica Nova Ensemble. She was also a member of several ensembles in Quebec and France, namely the Société de Musique Contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ), the Yonne Chamber Orchestra and the SIDO Quartet in Auxerre. From 2000 to 2007, she was an extra with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal. Julie has performed as a soloist with the Sherbrooke Symphony Orchestra, the Eastern Townships Chamber Orchestra and the Drummondville Symphony Orchestra. She has also made various recordings for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. From 2000 to 2007, as the cellist of the Molinari Quartet, she made numerous concert tours in Europe and was a soloist for the Esprit Orchestra of Toronto and the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, conducted by Charles Dutoit. She is now a member of the cello quartet Ponticello.
